MLK Planning Committee Seeks Nominations for 2017 Spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award

Carbondale, Ill. – The planning committee for the 18th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration requests nominations for the Spirit of Dr. King, Jr. Community Service award. Nominations will be accepted from Jackson and Williamson Counties.  The award will be presented at the Celebration on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 4p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center.

The Spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award recognizes an individual or group that exemplifies the character and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Nominees should have enacted or modeled a spirit of community service in the manner of Dr. King.
